How to apply

No application needed.
Bring a current (unexpired) VHIC showing SERVICE CONNECTED, MEDAL OF HONOR, PURPLE HEART, or FORMER POW.
No VHIC: bring a VA service-connected disability letter or VA Form H623A. Caregivers: bring a VA-issued caregiver patronage letter.
If your VHIC is missing or shows the wrong status, contact VA Health Eligibility through VA.gov.
For base access, enroll at the installation visitor center with an acceptable credential (VHIC, REAL ID, or VA-issued credential); you'll get an on-the-spot criminal record and terrorism check and electronic eligibility verification. Enrollment is valid 1 to 3 years (or 1 year after your last visit); re-enroll if your card expires.
